Employees who speak English at a basic level will benefit from 3iMobile’s Beginning
Level (BE1) interactive English curriculum. Online print lessons are based on life
skills related to the business world, for example, Making Appointments, Taking and
Leaving Telephone Messages, Giving Effective Presentations, and even – Adapting to
a New Supervisor. These lessons, written at an appropriate reading level, allow the
beginning level English speaker to expand his vocabulary around the lesson topic.
Targeted grammar lessons are included in these reading assignments.
After the student has studied the lesson, a live 30-minute telephone conversation
with an experienced native English-speaking educator provides intensive
follow-up instruction. These teachers understand the challenges of speaking and
understanding a second language. The goal of these conversations is to help improve
the student’s listening comprehension ability in a non-threatening, encouraging
atmosphere. In addition, valuable feedback is provided to allow progress in
grammatical accuracy.

Do you have employees with some English-speaking ability but
who need to move to the next level? If so, 3iMobile’s intermediate English curriculum
may meet their needs. Students study print-based lessons online to expand their
vocabulary, learn a variety of English idioms, and review a full spectrum of
grammatical rules within the lesson context.
This context consists of life skill and business-related topics, such as: Making
Plans through a Travel Agent, Correcting a Mistake on the Job, Ethics in the
Workplace, Entertaining a Business Associate. Each lesson is centered on authentic
language in either a dialogue format or as a sample reading text.
Following this self-study experience, the student takes part in a one-to-one live
30-minute telephone conversation with an experienced native English-speaking instructor.
This teacher leads the student through a series of activities designed to reinforce
what was covered in the lesson. In addition, the teacher is trained to provide an
appropriate level of oral input to challenge the student to improve listening comprehension.
At all times, the instructors are available to meet individual English
communication needs that might be expressed by the student during the
lesson; for example, preparation for an upcoming English-based conference
call or suggestions for appropriate ways to close an e-mail or business letter.

For your company’s advanced English-speaking employees,
3iMobile offers a challenging curriculum which provides: opportunities for
high level critical thinking, grammar review, and vocabulary development
centered around business-related and personal-development topics. Some examples
are: finance, e-business, work/life balance, ecology, government and politics.
These topics are presented in an authentic reading text which the learner reads
in advance of a 30-minute telephone conversation with an experienced, native-speaking
English instructor. At this level, the student is also asked to prepare a brief
assignment relevant to the lesson topic prior to the phone call, e.g., to do
internet research on a specific company or industry.
The live telephone lesson is an opportunity for the learner to answer challenging
questions related to the reading text as well as to engage in in-depth role plays
and discussions to expand speaking ability and vocabulary within the lesson context.
Each lesson also includes review of a grammar point relevant to the reading –
both for student self-study and as reinforcement during the phone conversation.
